The Panthers lost a nail-biter at the Bosque tourney in the Duke city on Saturday, falling to Monte del Sol 59-58, despite a dazzling 26 point performance by Gerrick Romero and another 10 from Brandon Medina.
The boys will be looking for their second win tomorrow against Mesa Vista. So far they’ve lost two heartbreakers including Saturday’s game and the two-point loss in the Taos opener, as well as another tourney matchup against Mesilla Valley Christian. But the Panthers’ 93-70 drubbing of Dulce over Thanksgiving weekend showed the team has plenty of potential to put more games in the ‘W’ column this season.
Also on Saturday, a real nice write up on Coach Romero in the Journal North – http://www.abqjournal.com/north/sports/04234341northsports12-04-10.htm
