Come learn more about Penasco’s new charter school Saturday

There will be a special event at 2 p.m. at the Penasco Community Center this Saturday, May 5 for prospective students, families and community members of La Jicarita Community School, a new free and public Expeditionary Learning Elementary School serving the area.  Everyone is welcome to attend and come learn more about the school.

Here is the agenda and list of activities planned for the event on Saturday:

1. Introductions- Dr. Gladys Herrera-Gurulé (10 minutes)
2. Welcome- Governing Council President-Johanna De-Biase (5 minutes)
3. Ice Breaker-Dan Lobato ( 5 minutes)
4. School Updates: Dr. Gladys Herrera-Gurulé, Eric Mack and Edwin Fernandez (15 minutes)
5. Sharing experiences from a successful Expeditionary Learning- Rio Gallinas Charter School in Las Vegas New Mexico (30 minutes)
6. Expeditionary Learning-Tim Sanchez and Amanda Bissell (20 minutes)
7. Break- Refreshments (Actividades en Español) Dr. Gladys Herrera-Gurulé (15 minutes)
8. Team Building-Big group activities- Dan Lobato (10 minutes)
9. Questions and Answers (30 minutes)
10. Door Prizes (5 minutes)
